I don't have a strobe tuner, but I do have a Strobostomp pedal. Does anyone think this wil be accurate enough to set the intonation on my Floyd-equipped Y2D?

I know which way to move the saddles, but does anyone have any further tips for getting the intonation just right? Should I lock the nut on the Floyd while adjusting?

Ditto that. The Strobo is ideal for intonating. Just make sure you're in standard tuning mode, not sweetened tuning. And the Key makes life easier for that kind of thing.

Hi Pete! I guess I've been out of the loop here for a while. I've been taking some college classes for the last year and a half in my 'spare' time. The kids are 9 and 7 now, so we're busy with them as well. I also finally released a CD with my band and we've been gigging pretty regularly for the last few months. Glad to see a lot of the old faithful are still here! I see that Beej had a baby (Congrats Beej!), and I think I was still lurking around intermittently when mbgreene passed.

How is your business? Mine is terribly slow, but I'm more directly tied to lending, and there's just not a lot of it going on.

tried my hand with the intonation on the Y2D w/Floyd. Using a small flathead screwdriver to move the saddles and the allen key to tighten/loosen the saddle, it didn't seem too bad. But I in spite of a good hour+ of tweaking saddles in the playing position, I couldn't quite get it sounding good all over the neck. So I threw in the towel and took it to my local dealer. When they took it out of the case, people started taking cell phone pics of my Y2D. I said "Hey.. don't be putting that on eBay!" :)
If any of you have seen it, you know the top sucks.
