Hi guys,

first of all, hello everybody, this is my first post :)

I have got a question concerning my MM Axis SS (fixed bridge):

with d'addario strings and with pyramid strings (a german string-company) i had intonation problems with the 3rd string around the 3rd fret (for example the 'A' was too high). All other notes on all 6 strings were ok, but the A on the 3rd string always too high.
By the way: the guitar was set up correctly (octave-intonation was really fine).

Then i switched to EB Regular Slinky strings and the problem has gone.

Now my question: is it really the strings that can cause intonation problems like written above (which is REALLY STRANGE .... ) ?? And if so, what have EB Strings in relation to EB Guitars, which don't have other strings???

Bye, Max

actually, I think some of us use strings other than Ernie Ball.
Interesting tht it's one brand and only at one point on the fretboard.

Use what works as long as they don't break more often, that's why I like GHS Boomers. I never break 'em.

i haven't used d'addario strings in decades. at one point i could have all the d'addario strings i wanted...for free ( long story)......but i still didn't use them........i bought ernie balls.
from what i remember ...typically....d'adarios intonated fine....but i would break them constantly.
also it's posoble u just had a bad g string. that happens to all manufacturers sometimes.......
