Here are a few pics of my new SS. As always, the pictures don't do it justice. It's a very pretty guitar, if I say so myself. Plays magnificently and sound great. I just need to play around with my Baggs Para DI to dial in the best tone for the piezo.

It was worth waiting for...

It's got a piezo pickup. There are two outputs, one for the magnetic pickups and one for the piezo pickup. The 2 knobs closest to the headstock are the volume and tone knobs for the humbuckers. The knob to the rear is the piezo volume control.

Thanx Bing. Don't know much about those pickups, but I'm sure that someone will enlighten me.

By the way nice color blue. You like the matching headstocks do you?? I prefer them clean, but that's me.

I debated whether to get the matching headstock and the tremolo. In the end I decided to go for both. I'm very happy with how the headstock turned out.

Blue balls! Blue balls!

I got one very similar but with black mm90's and rosewood. And a bit different grain pattern.

Hey Bing, very nice. Damn you, yours showed up first!
I love the neck. I think that's the first Axis I've seen with the piezo option. I'd say it was well worth the wait. Here's hoping mine shows up today!! I'll post pics when it does.

Fred, sorry for that. I'm not sure why UPS can get from Cal. to Ga. a day faster than from Cal. to MD.

The neck on this baby is incredibly fast, even for my slow hands.

When I got to the music store, it had not even been taken out of the shipping carton yet. One question, maybe someone can answer, is it normal for the intonation to be off after traveling across the country? Not a big deal, I can set it, but just wondering.

I've never named one of my guitars before, but I'm thinking about it with this one. Maybe "Blueball"? Maybe not. Sounds a little too feminine.

I was actually hoping for quilted maple, but I think the flamed maple came out very nice. So I'm happy.

:D

That's the way I feel with all these Silhouettes and Lukes. I never wanted one before. Now I find myself paying closer attention on eBay. Always a warning signal for future danger...

Superior Customer Service

I just wanted to post a note to again sing the praises of EB customer service.

I had some intonation issues with my new SS. I had a few communications with Keith in repairs. When the issue couldn't be solved over email, I sent it back in. Keith had the problem corrected within a day of receiving it back in (the nut was not finished being cut, so the bass strings were too high and this threw off the intonation). He also made sure the Piezo trim pots were set appropriately.

Keith told Dan, in customer service, that I needed the guitar back for this past weekend and they made sure it happened. The guitar plays wonderfully now. Thanks guys! :D
