Hey folks!

I'm not quite sure where introductions and test posts go, but I'm gonna guess it's here. I'm sure the Mods will re-direct me if necessary. LOL

My name is Kevan Geier.
I'm sure there are a few of you here that know me from other guitar forums, and know that I'm a big Ibanez J-Custom (can we say the I-word here?), but I also happen to own an EB/MM JPM-6 red pearlburst. Great guitar, superb neck, excellent build quality....a very good bang-for-the-buck guitar in my book.
Links to pics of all the guitars available upon request.

My amp rigs are pretty straight-forward:
-Rivera TBR-2SL (320W, all tube, f-ing loud)
-Digitech 2101 PRO (for reverb, chorus, delay)
-Peavey 4x12

-Line6 Vetta 2 head
-Line6 4x12 cab (damage courtesty of FedEx)
-Line6 FBV floorboard (destruction courtesty of FedEx)

-Cruise Audio MQ4 2x12 combo amp (5-100W, 4 'blendable' channels)
-'68 Fender Bassman in custom quilted maple housing.
I also have a little Line6 Spider 1x12 up here by the computers for the "I wonder if I can play that" moments I have every so often.

My pedals can be listed in one line: Dunlop CryBaby, SansAmp GT-2, Keeler Designs "Two-Timer".

I run a Shure wireless with the Rivera rig, and use DR strings on my guitars. Picks are the blue Tortex ones.

I'm 6'1", about 185#, with a fiancee' who works for Victoria's Secret, and we own our house. We have (3) prairie dogs as pets- Maximillian, Loki, & Chamonix. I drive a black Dodge Durango, and will soon sell it for an SRT-10.

I'm formerly a freelance camera operator (mostly video; some film), and was Service Dept. Manager for a major film equipment manufacturer before becoming an inventor.

My good friend Gabe and I put on Jemfest each year. It's a huge guitar-based charity event that features some great artists as well as up-and-coming folks. We're going on our 7th year and have raised thousands of dollars for Steve Vai's "Make A Noise Foundation". It's a fantastic (free) event that we really enjoy putting together each year in Orlando, FL. Oh, and we do a live webcast of the event for those that can't be there in person.

I'm also the inventor of the Tremol-No. I think "TheOrangeChannel" has posted a few updates for everyone (he's always ribbing me for info...LOL). I wanted to sign up here and offer to help out in-person when I can.

I don't know all the rules about spamming and such, but I want the Admin, Mods and members to know that I'm not here to do that. I'm here strictly for technical support and to help with any other questions the EB/MM players and owners might have.
(ADMIN or MODS- please contact me if you have any questions.)

Also, I'm pretty handy with tremolo systems. :D

And the toughest stat of all: Nope. I'm not a very good guitarist. LOL

If anyone has any questions, they're more than welcome to email or IM me (I'm better with IM's than PM's).
I hope to have fun hangin' with you folks!

Thanks guys (and gals)!

I'm not sure I've "switched sides" or anything, but I have learned a few things:
- While my J-Customs 'fit' me best, there are a ton of other guitar makers out there that put out some seriously nice guitars.
- Not all solid-state amps suck.
- Mr. Gimpel is a very nice person.

After doing a bunch of searching and reading tonight/this morning, I think I'll try to get here often. Seems like a very cool place.

Ha Kev you're over here too...:D

I have to praise the L6 stuff as well...theyre the ONLY solid state amps in my book. Koogie knows what I can wrench out of them...

There are a bunch of good solid-state amps out there.
The best one for you? The one that your ears like the most. :D It's tough recommending stuff like amps and pickups because of the subjectiveness involved. Additionally, your ears will 'hear' differently than mine, and we both hear things differently than TOC, and so on and so forth. You could put 10 amps in a room with 10 guitarists and they'd all come back with different favorites.

It's true that I enjoy my Line6 gear. For my ears, it fits the bill.

Try out as much stuff as you can in-person. If you can, take your own guitar when checking out gear. Reading reviews helps with making the choice(es), but it should only be a part of the overall process. That's about the best advice I can give.

Good luck on your quest!

Thanks a bunch, folks!
"Gizmo" sounds so.....so....well, I guess it is a gizmo. LOL
So far, the place is pretty cool; way better than most forums. And I didn't get suspended for posting a couple of facts. Nice. :)

I didn't see it in the rules, so I'll ask here quick:
-What is standard operating procedure regarding TAB's, posting of requests, lessons, etc.?

Paul- Good to see you again! I'll be in touch soon (Jemfest, Freakfoot, T-No's, etc.). I hope all is well over in NC.
