AmpliTube iRig is fun - the ability to play along with songs in your music library with different tempos and a/b tricky parts is nice. But the signal to noise ratio is pretty horrible. I wouldn't use it to record anything but rough demos. But to just play - it's kind of nice...

iRig is fun. I also really dig Garageband - way worth the price. Also Morphwiz is blast!

Also - for a very short time - TabToolkit is a free download (instead of $4.99). Act now!!! :)

Hi guys. I actually use the amplitude along with the irig. It's quite ok as far as you do not go into high gain amps. Then, the background noise is pretty horrible and the feedback makes it almost unplayable. Also when I use it with garage band, if I put very low gain then feedback comes, so for me irig+GarageBand is unusable. I also observed that this happens more on my iPad than on my iPhone. I'm considering selling my irig and buy the new mobile-in from Line6 to use with mobile pod as I am a great fan of pod farm which I use with my band to rehearse.

The feedback issue with the iRig was what prompted me to get the Apogee Jam instead. Zero problems and it's a lot of fun.

You were absolutely right! I still don't understand why there is feedback though...

Yeah, I use Apogee's Jam, too, as far as to how I connect the guitar to the iPad is concerned.

For the actual amp apps I have narrowed it down to AmpKit and Jam Up Pro (which has supposedly a big update coming in a few days) which I consider to be the best sound and feature wise.

Another Apogee Jam user here. Using it with an iPhone 4. You can notice a very small latency but nothing to really worry about. Great practice tool. I use it with the free ampkit app. Planning buying some more amps for it but haven't done it yet.

Anyone knows if the Jam is now compatible with the iRig app?

I will reply to my own question: Amplitube app is now compatible with the Apogee and other similar interface that plugs into the bottom connector.

Will trybit in the coming days and report later
