I'm wondering, I spoke with a local guitar shop, and asked for a price and timeframe for ordering a bongo 4 in either black or stealth, HH or HS, the prices they came back with were not out of the ordinary but they said it wouldn't arrive till November.

don't want to mention the name or the situation, but just need to know if it's feasible they couldn't get a bongo 4 at wholesale prices November.

3 to 4 months sounds about right for a build to order bass from EBMM. Now you can buy off the rack, but if you have specific wants/needs it takes time to build.

it's really not a build to order, it's the same thing other retailers have in stock, nothing special

I get what ur saying. thanks for the reply. basically I bought a used bongo liked it so much I want a new one, but I can only return for store credit. I just wanted to make sure they weren't pulling my leg to try to keep me from returning to used one which I'm sure they made a lot more money than if I were to order a new one .

what's wrong with the used one? guitars are somewhat individual, so it's possible, though unlikely, that you may not like the new one as well as the old one.

not a thing wrong other than a few minor cosmetics. it's a 2005 in really good shape. I was just thinking for what I paid, a bit more I could go new, and i still might. but I just wanted to make sure the store wasn't lying to me about the wait.

All of my Music Man basses that I have ordered new have taken anywhere from 4 to 6 months before they have been completed and then shipped to the store and then me. What they quoted you sounds about right.
