I'm no expert but there are a few things that don't seem right.

(1) the pearl dot inlays are wrong
(2) the back of the guitar should be black and not blue
(3) the colour, though cool, just doesn't seem right!

also, the Music Man decal looks redone. There appears to be a sort of black outline. That aint right!

The signature looks fake and the fret markers aren't the correct material either. The back of the neck seems to be too glossy. Maybe the neck is fake???? Come to think of it the body looks fake to. That's just my opinion.

Back of the neck looks varnished, too. The pup selector is non-standard and not oriented the right way. Might've started life as an EVH, but had some work done on the way...?

maybe it is refinished, that would explain the outline on the MM decal. Isn´t it similar on Norrin Radd´s swirled JP? It would also explain the blue back.

The neck joint seems to be very original. I could imagine, that this isn´t easy to fake.

I would vote for original, but heavy modded

With the couple of axis I have owned both have had the neck plate flush to the back of the body. :)

The orientation of the "Made in SLO" back decal looks off, too (but maybe it was positioned that way, parallel to the 4 tuners back in the EVH days?).

Well, it looks nice anyway. :) The only thing is the pearloid inlays, I would think inlays would be very tricky to replace, but then again I suppose it wouldn't be too hard to just rout right into the original small dots and put larger inlays in.

I say this is a heavily modded original.

It may be heavily modded, but that neck looks like a replacement. This sig is not correct, cant post pic, but the tail coming off the E is too open, and the end of the loop under the sig extends too far.. (did side by side sig comparison) The neck is finished, there is no figure in the maple and incorrect inlays. Most EVH necks were full of birdseye or some figure. Body looks pretty good from what I can tell, aside from the color.

wasn´t that a thing which EBMM refused to do. Think I read that somewhere...?!?!?

I believe I saw a pic lately from an original EBMM and wondered about this thing, so I think it was like this at some time.

What really confuses me, is the finished neck. Who would to this voluntarily ?

edit: original or not - I would not buy it, because it´s too much mods if original
