whilst having a good session comparing my 2 jp's today, i noticed that the tone of the middle position on the jp12 a quite bit different compared to the jp6.

now obviously the different fretboard and frets etc play a part, but it seems like theres less split coil character if you know what i mean. best way i can describe it is that it sounds more like the neck position but with less low end.

its not a bad thing, i was just quite surprised that they sound so different from each other in that position and wanted to clarify it with you guys :)

sorry if my highly technical description is hard to follow haha :p

They are differently wired. On the JP the middle position is coil tapped with the push/pull down. On the JP12, they are coil tapped with the push/pull up.

Unless you already knew that in which case I apologize.

ah right ok, i thought they'd be wired differently because of the coil tap option on the jp12. thats the reason they sound that different is it then?
