It looks like it is.
I believe the first run of Axii did not have the Axis Name on the headstock.
The best way to confirm would be to post your serial number (at the back end of the neck where the bolts are) and have Jon or someone check.

It wouldn't be an axis as we think of it, as the axis did not start production until 1995, after EVH had left EBMM. The logo looks far too large to be genuine, but I could be wrong - my feeling is that is is not original

The serial number is: 4004563, looks strange
The body of this guitar is like EVH (pickup switch), but I am affraid that is could be a copy.

I have to say, I've never seen a headstock decal like that before, which would make me question whether or not this guitar has either been re-finished or if it is a genuine EBMM.

As Tommy said, more pics will be helpful.

My policy on implants:
If I can touch them they are real.

That policy does not apply in this case. If BP says it's not real then it's not an Ernie Ball Music Man. Then it's a matter of taste as to wether or not you like it. If it is being offered for sale as an EBMM then look out for the wrath of Wonder Dog!

To carry the analogy further, it's a bit lke adding a new set of tuners to your favorite guitar. They still serve the same function even though the knobs may be bigger and more fun to hold. :D
