an Axis locking trem in black? If this is not a possibility, does anyone know of a luthier or service were I could get the floyd style trem painted in black?

I'm pretty sure that someone, somewhere in the world sells one that is a drop-in replacement. I'd first send an email to customer service. If they don't have one to sell you they might be able to tell you where to get one. Failing that they can tell you the correct specifications so you can find and order the right one.

Pm Tollie... He switched out the trem on his Axis to a black one.
