I am thinking about grabbing a sub silo3, the silo special sterling, for a mod project and beat the hell out of guitar but cant find one anywhere, in fact MF isn't even shipping them til mid October, but they are selling for under 200 bucks!!! I played a LK100 and I liked it better than a mexi strat by FAY and it sounded incredible with the trans pups but its not a cheap guitar...any opinions are great thx

My experience didn't go so well. In fact, why I joined was because of a sterling and ended up getting "real" one.

Here were the problems: The trem is installed badly most of the time. Two different JP's had this crazy trem thing (you can find pics on google) plus they are not screwed in right. The fret work is ok, but because it was a 42mm instead of the 43mm the high E string comes when doing any pull-offs too easy. And sloppy hardware put together. Had to re soldier a couple of parts.

I went through this with Ibanez. I'm going to have to say no to Indo guitars, too hit miss with the miss side being more dominant.

For a hand full of years the JP50 was my main guitar. Played great. October of last year I got my Artisan Majesty. There's an obviously difference between SBMM and EBMM -- but for the price, they are great. I got the SBMM JP157 earlier this year (did a video on youtube demoing the guitar). It's a great guitar for the price. Great backups for your EBMM, or great project guitars, or great main guitars if you can't afford the american counter part.

They're very good guitars. Best $400 guitar you can buy for $200 (which is opposite world compared to some guitars out there). I find them at Guitar Center (multiple locations) all the time. I tend to pick em up and try them out.....then bring one to my 16 year old son who tends to pick up the death metal looking Deans that look cool but play like crap.

I got a black Sub Silo 3 a few weeks ago. I'm really enjoying it. Good variety of sounds, playable, and very clear and solid sounding. Only niggle - the nut needed a little filing and I set the trem to float, which was set to the body when I bought it new from Amps and Guitars in Billings Montana.

Also almost went with the Sterling JP100D the same day, and will keep it in my "to do" list. Very nice guitar with very usable voices and highly playable too. Great feeling neck.

So - yes. Good guitars.
