Ok, this might sound like a dumb question, but my headstock is at an angle. Is it supposed to be like this, or is it supposed to be straight with the fretboard?

Got pics?

I've just had a look at my two and they dont appear to have an angled headstock, but it does look that way when you look towards it from the normal playing position.

I think it's just an optical illusion, but someone who knows more than me (which could be anyone really) will let you know.

Actually, looking at it now more objectively, I think you're right about it being an optical illusion.

I feel a little dumb now.

Thanks for your help though.

If I were Karl, first thing I'd do is change that avatar in hopes of coming off more intelligent! :p;)

Karl - dig your modesty and humour - speaks volumes.
My turn to be an ass. My first guitar was a Hondo Les Paul Copy....(Copy being in the loosest sense of the word....it had two pickups and a neck - that was about as far as the association went).
Anyway, one day I was looking at the bridge saddles, that seemed to be staggered, and I thought "you know, the factory didn't even set those little stringy things straight".....and after five minutes with a screwdirver that was sorted - all back as far as they could go in a nice straight line. The funny thing was, it never played in tune again.........
I was only a kid!!!!
Karl, hope that makes you feel better!! :):D

years ago i bought the OLP JP guitar. i didn't like the pickups so i decided to change them and use the included screws that came with the dimarzio pickups.

i didn't know what direct mounted meant and screwed the long pickup screws straight through the back of the guitar... i was like, DUH!!!

so now i have an OLP John PROTRUSION guitar :)

Thanks guys. I've not done anything stupid with the guitar (yet) though. ;)

I think it's just that I'm going from angled-back headstocks, and the EB one looks quite disorientating from certain angles. I still find myself looking at it from another angle just to double check it's still straight.

Just something I'm not used to. ;)
