Is this a genuine Ernie Ball?

This guitar is for sale on my country's equivalent to ebay. It's listed by a pawnbroker, but the photo of the back of the headstock where the serial number normally goes is quite blurry.

I've asked for a clearer picture of the back of the headstock but the seller hasn't responded.

I was hoping to take advantage of some of the knowledge here on the forum. In my coutry EB strings are really popular, but because of a crappy exchange rate EB guitars are normally only within the reach of pro players.

I'm a learner, saw this listing and thought man that sounds like a bargain. The back of the headstock though has writing on it that is slanted instead of straight up and down like I've seen on the back of most headstocks.

So guys, is this a real Ernie Ball?

No, it's an OLP (Officially Licensed Product). Not a real Ernie Ball Music Man. Might still be a fine guitar though.

Looks like OLP version of Silo-haven`t tried this one,but played Axis and Luke-didn`t liked them at all...
If you are looking for a "entry" model try Sterling by Musicman-good quality guitars for reasonable price.

Price wise, compare it to a good condition Squier Affinity. There should be plenty of these used to get you a price point.

OLP guitars tend to be inconsistant but with some work (fret work, possibly tuners, some electrical), you can have a nice guitar. But you need to be capable of doing the work yourself to guarantee a nice guitar in the end.

I had an OLP Benji which started as a piece of crap that needed fretwork, and a setup badly. After a bit of banging here and there and the setup and some filing and playing, it turned out nicely and I sold it and bought my sub 1, which is easily 3 times (probably 5 times) the guitar that the olp was.

My mate has an OLP Axis and it is a great guitar. needed some fret work and a set up but a great guitar for the money.

These were pretty hot when they cameout, and as stated most guys that bought them modded them into decent playing guitars. If you are pretty handy and can grab it for close to the price listed it would be worth a shot.
