Hi everybody,
I come to this board with a question about a Steve Morse Y2D I'm about to get. It's going to be my first Music Man guitar, so I don't know what to look for in terms of authenticity yet.

Here are some pictures of the guitar in question, I'd really appreciate if you guys could tell me what you think. The one thing that bothers me a bit is the drastic change of color tone between the headstock and the neck. Is it supposed to look like this?

Sure looks like one :) (Seriously, I've never seen a knock-off of a Y2D and that particular guitar looks great!)

The color change is normal. The headstock is finished but the neck is not. The line you see is the edge of the finish. Where the neck has been played over time, you see the difference in colour on the wood. Again, totally normal.

How does it play?

Looks like the real deal to me as well. Beej certainly knows. If Beej says it is good then it is good.

Don't think I've ever seen a post on faked EBMMs, have never even heard of one.
