A Couple months ago I bought this StingRay 5 second hand. The electronics, the pickups and the pickguard are changed. A second pickup is added.

I provided you with the serial number on the photos

Thanks in advance!

The pic of the tuners on back of the headstock says a lot.
  • The plate on the tuners is the wrong shape and is missing the Music Man stamp
  • They're all right aligned but should be centered
  • They're all missing the bottom right screw
  • The spacing between them is way off, the top 3 are cramped with a gap at the bottom
  • The "Made in" text should be a higher
  • On the front, the logo looks strange, might be the wrong logo for that year and it doesn't look like it's aligned correctly.

I can't stand fakes but it's great that we have places like this to be safe. Sorry this one didn't work out for you.

Definitely fake, Chinese style bridge is usually the most noticeable part of a fake, as that kind of bridge is available overseas for cheap. The 5 never had muted and when the four has a bridge that large it has holes for a mute kit. I’d imagine the old route for the original H pickup is still there, you can still mod it a bunch and have a workable bass from it! If possible I’d get your money back, if it is was on reverb you definitely can!

Other little nit-picks i think i noticed:
- fretboard dots are a little small, maybe
- neck plate is crooked
- serial number on neck plate looks like wrong font/style

Sorry I’ve just read that properly. I hope you hadn’t brought that thinking it’s a genuine EBMM and paid a genuine price for it
