Well some years ago...at the time I owned a honeybrst Sillo....I was told an interesting story.

A young luthier from a nearby town told me that EBMM we r getting here in Croatia (authorized dealer!!!) is supposedly not the same quality as the ones youd find let's say in Germany, USA, bigger markets(Croatia has only 4 500 000 population) etc. He says that MM has different shops producing same instruments of different quality. The Gold,Sliver and Platinum...cant remember which made what.

One of those, made top notch instruments and the other two made a bit less top notch instruments....
The top notch ones were sent to the shops that sellthe mostMMEB stuff and the other stuff went elswhere....

For instance my ex bassplayer has a fretless EBMM stingray bass he bought in Sydney 7 or 8 (maybe more) yrs ago and we compared it to an exact same model the local dealer had at the shop and they were quite different. Not like...major differences....but you could tell his was better finished and more attention was given.

Maybe we were just biased/horrifyed by what ur friend lutiher said...I can hardly believe the story my self...but then again I heard simillar stories about all gear coming to Eastern European market.People say we get the worst sheesh.....
You should see some of the Fender stuff that we get, hahahahaha!!

Months after I heard this story I traded my Sillo for a new Framus guitar...and I guy I traded it with says he had a hard time selling it....
He had some potential buyers from Germany and he says they checked the serial to verify if the guitar is legit....they didnt get any info on that specific serial from EBMM.
He freaked.

All of this occured a long time ago but I always wanted to see if theres any truth in this....you know...people here like to talk bull ...a lot...especially when it comes to gear/guitars.
MMEB guitars sell well here in Croatia but have no aftermarket value....its only Gibson and Fender.People here are very closeminded when it comes to guitars.

I find everything stated above hard to believe but still....I wanted to see what you're gonna say.

P.S.
What s the deal with standard and upgraded tops on Axis models?

I'm having hard time believing this, cause as far as I know there's only 1 (ONE) factory in SLO. The only explanation I can come up with is that there were some fake EBMM offered in Croatia. I lived in Russia not so long ago and I know Russian market saw a lot of fake Fenders, Gibsons etc.
Upgraded or premium top gives you an option to choose what kind of top you're getting - flamed or quilted; and I guess it's always highly figured.

The platinum class Slinky's are nice strings, but watch out for the Silver, they're really just twine with a metallic wrap.

I don't believe that story at all... as far as I'm aware they have, as is mentioned, one factory and all the instruments are of the highest quality going out the door.

Yup thats what I thought.
MMEB guitars look genuine over here(Croatia) and I really doubt anyone would go to such extent to copy something like music man.Fenders?Yes
Even Gibson is too musch trouble!

Good to know everything is fine.

thanx.

Keep your eyes peeled for OLP though ... they do look the same, and some people try to pass them off as Ernie Ball guitars, even though they're "Offically Licensed" by Ernie Ball only.

All of the instruments that leave SLO are of the same highest level of quality. So much so that even a pee-on such as my self gets the same fantastic quality as someone of great
impo(r)t(a/e)nce. You know like kbaim. :D

The story is garbage. As NorM says, even us little people get the rock star treatment. That goes with each and every one of their instruments as well.
