HELP: Issue with B string

Hello all, im new to the forums and i come seeking advice.
I've had my MusicMan Axis for about 2 years now and i love it except for one flaw. The flaw is when the when you pluck the open B string, it is touching the first fret and creates a sound that resembles a sitar. I believe it is caused by that string being too close to the fret board so i tried a shim under the nut but to no avail in a addition to changing string gauges. Any suggestions would be appreciated. (note: this is only occurring with the B string plucked OPEN)
thanks

hard to tell without seeing the guitar

truss rod adjustment and if you don't feel like doing those take your guitar to a good tech

this is I think minor adjustment.

Welcome to the forums. If you are not sure what to do, I would take your guitar to a tech. It's never good to give advice about guitar repairs over the internet. People may be trying to help, but end up doing more harm.

oh, let's see some pics!

Thats a tough one as you would have a locking nut and shimming the nut should do the job. You may have a slightly high 1st fret causing the problem or a neck adjustment is in order. Might be a good time to get the gtr to a qualified tech for a look see.
