hello... i'm a proud proud PROUD owner of a new Luke... love the necks on these... but saddly the trem block will not allow the trem arm to go all the way to the bottom down to the spring clip... the little black allen set screw that you turn from under the trem plate is backed off almost falling out so it's not in the way... the arm goes down 3/4's of an inch and stops dead... can't get it to budge past that point...

This is the 2nd arm i have tried from the store i bought it from, and the arm i have came of another MM guitar on the sales floor with the same trem and it fit fine in that guiatrs trem block...

any idea's?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your Luke!

If the store you bought it from can't make it right you should contact customer service. They'll take care of you! (See my signature for the link).

Important forum rule - your guitar does not exist without pictures! :)

wish i knew how to post pictures of it... nice silver Luke with a matching headstock... I'm not the brightest with computers...

but i am a pretty experienced guitar guy... repairing and making them from lumber i have all done in my background... nothing in the trem block i can see should be blocking the arm other then a bad milled hole off by such a slight amount... I'll take it back to the store this week and see if they have some sort of tricks up their sleeves... i think in the end it may just need a new block...

i finally got the bar to go all the way in... i took the bridge off and was able to give the bar slight more pressure then i felt safe to do so while on the guitar.... got it to go down all the way finally and after a few tries the bar goes in and out smooth now... installed the bridge back on and restringing it... setting it up the way i like my guitars tonight...

thanks

Hey, I can post pictures for you if you can build me a guitar out of an old growth pine piece of beam in my cellar. It's like 12x12 and 4 feet long....

:)

....actually, you can upload pictures to photobucket. Then hoover over that picture and 4 links will show up below it. Click the lowest one and it'll copy to your clipboard. Then come into an EBMM post and do a ctl V and it'll paste it right in.

I followed my own directions there to be sure I didn't tell you something wrong.....

thanks Jack... i just tried to up load a photo up to my profile and it just freezes and has an error message... when i get more time i'll try the photo bucket...

i've been seeing some high priced guitars made out of re-claimed pine... i have bunch of bodies and necks i made that need to be finnished oneday... but i hate spray finnish work... so i walked away from making my own stuff... lost access to a shop a long time ago... i still work on repairing stuff... just refretted a Les Paul this week... have a custom made strat that needs final assembley...
