I went through trial by Floyd today and finally figured out an annoying buzz on the B string, turned out it was a burr on the saddle.

Got her smoothed out and man, am I ever an EBMM believer! Neck is so nice, practically plays itself.

Floyd is holding perfect tune, no more buzzing, and I am very glad I went with the Axis!

Is there any way to raise the pickups?

Here's a pic though, looks great, sounds great, and plays amazingly.

Only gripe is it did NOT come with the original hard-plastic MusicMan logo case as originally advertised, came with some tolex'd TKL-style case.

No worries though, I'm happy. :)

I love blue guitars ( my Axis is a blue quilt as well). That looks beautiful! I'm glad you're enjoying it.

Petel,

Congrat's!!! That's really an awesome lookin' top. What year??

Yeah, Axis' are my "favorite MM guitars!!! I've never had a tuning issue (or any issue for that matter) with any of my Axis guitars ever.

If that is the case (next to it in the pic), I believe MM used to use that case for the Axis a few years back. I also have one I received on an Axis back @98'

Yes, it's easy, and it doesn't play into any other adjustment consideration. You can raise the pickups by putting a thin small washer under the pickup frame, (I actually made custom "wooden" spacers for pickup height mod's on my guitars because it transfers the "resonance" better than metal.:)

TNT- Oh ok... so no adjusting screws, HAH so simple, I get it now! It is a 2006 model I was told.

Oh, so it could be the original case? Yeah that is the case in the pic.

I thought it was weird too, guess the string just dug into it or something, it's fine now.

Stupid volume knob is cracked though, kinda weird! I guess I can just get a new one if/when it breaks in half, right now it's just a hairline crack, no worries!

Can't get over the neck, so nice!

Congrats!! Shes a Beauty !! Thats definately the case from an earlier Axis, so either the guitar itself is an earlier model than 2006, or somehow the seller acquired an earlier case for your 2006. You gonna LOVE playing that thing .............

Great to hear. I still think your Axis would make a great companion to my SS. People would probably ask me if they were twins and I'd have to reply....no, they're 2 years apart (mine's an 04). I love that color.

I played an Axis (non-SS) yesterday for the first time and really, really liked it. ....oh...and thanks Pete at Dubaldo's for the opportunity to do so (and the Luke, the silo, the silo spec, the Al, the Morse.....).

Awesome axe and nice socks...:p

*LOL*

Thanks?

Ok looks like according to EB, it is a trans blue axis and was built on 11/12/97, shipped to Atlanta Discount Music.

Musta sat around for a while, because the guy I got it from said he got it from Atlanta Discount Music in 2006. Or maybe it got traded back in, but it's in amazing shape for a 97!

So the mystery of the case is solved?

there's some more pics in the "pictures of my guitar" thread you can check out.

unfortunately, there may be some more pics in the "for sale" section.

scholarship isn't covering my whole semester it seems, this semester, and i have nothing else of value to sell, aside from my car, to cover the costs...

if it comes to selling this, i am going to be furious.
