So I got home today, checked my messages, and found that I had one. After listening to it, I leaped into my car and rushed to Guitar Center as fast as I could. As you can imagine, I didn't spend much time there after that,

I've been playing my new Sapphire Black Bongo 5 HH since then, and just paused briefly to report my incredible joy right now. Not to mention the beauty was set up and intonated perfectly right away. All I had to do was raise the neck pickup a litte and it was good to go.

Well, I'm gonna go play some more, this bass is simply incredible.

my fav. part about getting a brand new EBMM is that amazing smell when you 1st crack open the case...and how it lingers for a couple weeks

Congrats. That incredible joy never goes away when you plug in your bongo. I still get that oh boy smile when I pick mine up to this very day.

I should be getting my first EBMM bass very soon. I have noticed a common element related to adjustments required upon receiving a new bass. I'm a bit nervous about that as I have no experience in this regard. Sorry if this is covered in another thread .... but I'm wondering what adjustments are possible and how to be sure it's set-up properly when receiving it new. Is the retailer responsible for initial set-up? Thanks!

Usually the only adjustment needed on a new EBMM bass is a tweak of the truss wheel one way or the other to accomadate changes from the weather differences between SLO and where you obtain the bass.

Yeah be careful with the pickup height adjustment those are neodymium mags with a powerful preamp and you really should return it to factory spec for best performance....too many people set the height at the level they did with their old passive basses

For sure BP. I had to lower my pup a bit. The ampeg drivers weren't tough enough.

Great Guys ... good to know ... thanks. I'd rather not mess with it too much and would prefer to leave it up to a professional until I can at least learn the ropes. Like a lot of things, I think you can do more bad than good by messing with it, especially when you don't know WTF you are doing.
