...and it's in transition.
As I mentioned earlier, I'm interchanging the two Sil Spec's, replacing the abalone pickguard and HSS setup this one came with with the SSS setup from the SS that I have had, along with the pearloid tuner heads from the same.
I just uncovered some wiring issues as I pulled this off, namely:
1. Homeboy who had this before me disabled the Silent Circuit on this guitar in order to accomodate his crazy pickup change (dropped a Seymour Duncan humbucker in the bridge position, disabled the middle pickup, and left the neck single coil intact, etc.)
2. The Silent Circuit is apparently a little different between the two configurations, and it's a job that Superman here can't do, so it's going to get resolved tomorrow by a tech down the street from my work (who, ironically, worked for the guy who owned the shop that I bought my first EVH from, and funny enough, it's in the exact same space in Old Town Scottsdale...too weird!)
In the meantime, I've put it together how I want it a la aesthetics so I could at least show it off...let me tell you, this color is a MF to photograph!
