I did a fill-in gig with my old band last night (I know, no pics = no gig but nobody had a camera:rolleyes:) and I played my SR5 20th. Since I have sold almost ALL of my balls:eek:, this is now my only gigging bass.

Let me start by saying this bass really has a sound and tone unlike any other bass I have ever owned. Put that together with EBMM's PERFECT neck, and I was having more fun with this bass than any other! I was using mainly pick up position 2 and 4 for that deep growl!

I'm SO glad I decided to keep her, as I was torn at one time as to WHICH bass that would stay. She's a little bit on the heavy side (10.7 pounds) but with a tone like this, I felt no pain.

Thank you for listening...

I need to figure out how to swing one of those. It's been my fantasy bass since it came out. Probably going to have to post some stuff in the classifieds...

Good move John, the 20th is a killer bass.

I bought the 20th as my 2nd ball, but she was never played out very much. I considered it to be one of my show basses, as I had others to gig with. Well now that has changed and I kept her and her alone to be my go to bass. I'm glad I did.
10.7 is not heavy for a SR5

If it was a SR4, i would say yeah, a tad heavy
I guess you're right, but I sold my gigging bass (a Sterling 5 that weighed only 9 pounds!) so this seems ALOT heavier. But hey no pain...;)

It is cool that you are playing it and not letting it hang on the wall like a piece of art.

I know! It's kind of surreal in a way. This time last year I owned 9 balls, and now I'm down to 1. I will ALWAYS have at least ONE ball...seriously! I will buy more someday.
