I've put flats on my stingray, and...

..the result is great!!! I was one of those bassists who endoresed roundwounds for many many years and was a bit reluctant to try flatwounds. but i don't regret of having done it.

I use flats on all my instruments, except my Les Paul six stringer. I just prefer the feel & tone. My son has a Bongo 5 I strung with EB flats & that sucker just plain kicks some serious tone, awsome for Reggae BTW.

I had flats on my former '93 Ray before I sold it, and the thing sounded great (actually it sounded a lot like your video). One day I'd love to have (among other things) a pair of rays so I could keep one with rounds and one with flats.

When I came here I read Jack, Aussie Mark, Tom (tk), and Jason (monkeee) all swear by flats.

I thought they may be nuts.
