Hi there everyone,
Sorry to bother you nice people here but I'm after some figures if poss?

I'm trying to find out what Petrucci action is set to on the musicman guitar. (6 string)

Are they as standard from EB or are they tech when he get's them?

What's the action figures please if you'd be so kind?

Just fance giving my guitar to the shop & saying "errr...here's the numbers, can you do that please."

The last time I gave my guitar to a shop they flat stoned the fret's & screw my guitar up big time.

This time I'm taking it to another shop with these setting with a little help from you folk's...Cheers for all your effort's.

FRET.

Here's a vid I did for fun ,as a way of thanks.

What if they set it up to those figures and you don't like it that way?

When I used to get my guitars set up, I always remember bringing them home, and tweaking them back to where "I" wanted them. Everyone's different, and everybody has their own personal way they like it.

Plus, no one is going to care about "your" instrument more than you.

The JP is a super easy guitar to set up.

I watched your videos, and you play pretty good. I'm sure that if you can play that good, you're gonna have no problem adjusting the guitar to your needs.

It's such a hassle. Tweek the trust rod here & there & then the internation...etc..

It's cool to be older now & pay someone to do it. After all they need their cash to.lol

Know the figures?

P.s. thanks for the kind words.

Alright, I just went and broke out my petrucci and eyeballed it:

Relief holding the 1st and 24th fret at the 9th fret is about .5mm.

Action at the 24th fret is about 2 mm.

Low E saddle is raised to about 2.5 mm.

D saddle is raised about 4 mm.

Hope this helps.

My Petrucci is set up pretty good (for me, at least). There is a faint amount of buzz when strumming a bar chord unplugged. If that...

But they are super easy to mess with.

The intonation pattern should stay pretty much the same unless you are changing string gauges and tunings.

What gauge strings are you using?

Just play around with it. There's no need to pay someone to set up a guitar the way you probably won't like.

That's just what mine is set to.

I like low action, but not super low.

And I don't mind a tiny little bit of buzz.

My petrucci is set up super killer. Probably the best it's gonna get. For my particular one.

P.S. I have no clue who Jamie Humphries is.

.

I always do it myself. I've got Pets strung here with Not Even Slinky's and Beefy Slinky's for lower tunings and I was about to do the set-up with out any difficulties. I just follow the steps from the EBMM website.
