t-bone lent me some headphones for silent practicing. They work when plugged directly into his SR4. However, they don't work when plugged into my Bongo.

As a further twist, they work when I plug the Bongo into my Boss tuner then plug the headphones into the output of the tuner. It works with the tuner off so I'm assuming the tuner output is just a pass-thru.

The plug on the headphones is stereo.

Can anyone chime in with the TRS wiring? Dudley?

any difference in the bongo and SR4 pins?

A stereo plug should not work. What turns the on-board preamp on is the sleeve of the plug completing the circuit to ground. On a stereo plug you have that little piece of sleeve (ring) between the tip and the rest of the sleeve which ordinarilly carries the other channel of the two channels used for stereo. I suppose if you grounded the other end of that wire coming off the ring it would work.

I had a similar issue, but abandoned my cause. Now, I can return with a solution in hand.
