Help! Jack socket woes

So I'm playing my MM JP-7 on Saturday, when I managed to snap the jack plug in the socket ( the combined piezo & magnetic).
I dismantled the Jack plate but the sockets are sealed! Basically the very end tip of the jack plug snapped off & stuck inside.
Where can I get a new socket (or maybe fitting as well?) in North West England.
I can handle a soldering iron, so I can fit it myself.
And no, although it's only 10 months old, it's not technically new - I bought it unused off a guy in the USA. So the warranty's not valid, I suppose

a local dealer or your distributor should be abel to get the part for you. but as you said since its not warranty it will cost a bit.

You can probably get the socket from CPC, or RS components (you'll pay through the nose at RS though).

If not, and you're nearby, try Sounds Great in Cheadle. They're pretty good.

The piezo system is all enclosed and you can't get access to it

Ah right. Not got one of those on the 20th, or the ASS.

Is it the plug end of your cable that broke off? If so use a small drill bit 1/8" in the center, and use a screw extractor to take it out be gentle

No if you take the the 4 screws & 2 retaining nuts off, you can get at the PCB & the associated components. The only PITA is that there are 9 legs to unsolder/resolder on each socket.
But it's worth it to get it back all nice

And it'll teach me to have 'metal moments' on stage, or alternatively, to use a right angle jack plug

Actually it would be more accurate to say that the body of the plug (a Neutrik Silent jack) disintegrated inside the socket!
We got quite a lot of bits out, but eventually what was left was the actual tip. This stopped another jack from engaging properly. By removing the back from the jack socket I got it out, but I think the technical term is the socket's 'fooked' !

Cool - take pictures when you do it for future reference?

I had mine down to bare bones and shied away to that extent of a fix!!
