Just had confirmation from Jamie that he will be on the upcoming Kerry Ellis tour.

Very cool indeed. Already got my tickets for the Glasgow gig, can't wait.

There should be some serious Axis love on that stage, what a fantastic line up.

Kerry's voice, a Queen legend, and Jamie ripping it up.

Click for tour dates: and some footage from Proms in The Park with Jamie last year.

Hope the big fella doesn't mind me posting, but I would hope knuckleheads support the UK leg.

Should be awesome.

That is sick!
I really dug the 'wicked in rock' stuff. Love Kerry, Jamie is a monster and Brian May, well, it's Brian May!
So they're coming to Australia yeah? Ahhh a man can dream :)

I am sooo looking forward to this.

I too am a fan of the Wicked material, such a great show.

The Anthems album has some really strong moments, live I think it will be very special indeed.

No the big fella don't mind the post at all!!!...Thanks to all the Knuckleheads, and all the Guys at Ernie Ball/Musicman USA, and Strings and Things in the UK...not to mentions all fellow EBMM and Lick Library fans across the world for their continuing support and encouragment!!...I am so happy to have landed this tour...to have played one gig as Brian May's 2nd guitarist was a dream come true, but now with comfrimation of the tour I am blown away to be in Brian and Kerry's band...Kerry is an amazing talent,a great performer with an incredible voice, and a totaljoy to work with...and Brian, well what can i say...he is rock royalty...for me this is an opportunity of a life time...I still keep pinching myself that I am in a band with him!!...at the end of the day, I am huge fan of rock guitar, and Brian is with out a doubt one of the most important, and unique guitarists in rock history...I cant put into words the buzz that I get standing on a big stage next to him playing Queen songs!!..I remember watching the Live Magic tour on TV in the mid 80's when I was in my early teens, and being totally blown away buy the size of the gig, and Brian and Queens performance...like I said its still surreal to now stand next to him on stage and tour with him...I have just had comfirmation from his office today for another UK date, a big open air one in July...I am also excited about getting my rig sorted for the tour...I have been going through my vast collection of EBMM guitars, selecting which ones will go on the road...My main guitar will be "Old Faithfull", my beaten up 11 year old Axis Supersport..the one with the Black Humbuckers...although I have a new neck humbucker to try, which is a black and cream one, so its going to look even more Frankenstien!!...I just got back from a video session for Lick Library's new Guitar Interactive Magazine...I used "Old Faithfull" for a tribute to Gary Moore...I really cant go anywhere without this guitar!!...Its getting more and more reliced!!....it delivers the good everytime...Its my right hand!!!..I Hope to see some of you guys on the road...I shall post all of the dates up asap...cheers guys..Jamie Humphries..

Congrats Jamie on another go round of working with Brian, You always come across on your DVDs as a guy with a great personality and easy going way, so I guess it would be safe to say that besides your monster chops, Brian must feel the same way and you guys must be pretty tight as he has asked you to continue on playing with him. I had told you once before that Queen was my favorite band as a teenager that I discovered on my own, and did not listen to because of my older brother by 7 years record collection lol. I just wish a lot of people would go back and get the early albums as to keep it real I do not listen to any songs on the greatest hits albums these days and have a CD made up of songs like Ogre Battle, Brighton Rock,Liar, Flick of the Wrist, Stone cold Crazy, March of the Black Queen, Prophet Song, Death on Two Legs and many more of the darker harder edge material. No doubt Brian is one of the greatest players ever and also one of the earliest to start playing more diatonically and delve into modal playing when 90% of solos were basically pentatonic. I am still crushed as I can figure so are you at the loss of the great Gary Moore, on a side note the first concert I ever saw was Quenn at Madison Garden and Thin Lizzy opened for them and though I did not find this out till many years later as I would write Gary's web page to see if he would be doing any US shows but he said it was just to expensive these days to tour the US, so I felt I would never be able to say I saw the great Gary Moore till I read in an interview he did that was on that tour with Lizzy when they opened for Queen in 76. So even though at 14 I did not know who he was at the time I have seen Gary. I re-upped my membership on the Library and must say you did a great job as usual on the Def Leppard DVD and those songs are a lot of fun to play but most interesting is the great rhythm parts, another great job J, and always a pleasure when you drop in to share what you are up too.

Thanks so much for your kind words...I have just had confirmation of some extra dates with Brian in June and July...so am very happy...I dont know why he has chosen me to be honest...being Brian may he could have anyone..but I am thrilled he has...yes I was very upset by the passing of Gary Moore, but more so by the horrible lying press coverage of his death in the UK tabloids...I know Gary's brother pretty well, and feelfor him and his family at this difficult time...Its hard enough to loose a family member, but to read inacurate sensationalist tabloid reports must be devastating....
I hope I did him justice in my 2 tribute pieces I composed in his honour that will be featured in the next issue of Lick Librarys online magazine Guitar Interactive...

On a lighter note, I got a new Axis Supersport today...its going to be number 2 on the tour..Its basically exactally the same as "Old Faithfull"..same colour, but with the original pickups..and obviously its lovely and new!!..I also have some exciting news regarding my continuing involvment with EBMM...so stay tuned...Jamie Humphries..

Wow.

Just returned home from the Kerry Ellis 'Athems' gig with Jamie, in Glasgow.

Some serious Axis action on show, and what a show it was.

JH >> DiMarzio's (36th?) >> Axis Super Sport >> Blackstar Amp >> Awesomeness.

Huge sound, and what a performance. These guys were on top form tonight, and I think Glasgow did well with a huge response!

Kerry and Brian were flawless, and they looked such a happy, and tight, unit up there.

Jamie was rockin' a great acoustic tone too, the Super Sport had it all covered.

What a show, what a night. Love it.

It really was!

Twitter/Facebook pages also suggest that they thought the Glasgow night was great too.

I had been listening to a lot of musical theatre leading up to the gig, and have been since. Strong songs.
