I heard my mate use a Satchurator last night at a gig and it sounded awesome.
Right into a clean channel of Marshall sure enough.

I'm thinkin about getting one!

+1 for the Damage Control pedals. I like the Liquid Blues better than the Solid Metal, but my style of playing doesn't require massive amounts of distortion. They are both good.

Damage Control is good stuff. Test drove a Solid Metal on a few gigs awhile back, when I was in the market for a new distortion pedal. I liked it a lot, sounded great through a Mesa Lonestar, but the pedal is HUGE. It would take up quite a bit of space on a board, but it has lots of gain, which pleased me immensely. :D I play heavy music and ended up going with an EH Metal Muff - VICIOUS distortion pedal and I absolutely love it.

FWIW - Blackstone Appliances Overdrive - it's expensive but it sounds great ($225). It works with tube and solid state amps. I gig with a Roland Cube because the local scene has stages so small it's like doing a jig-saw puzzle to get everyone on stage. The Blackstone has two channels (rhythm and lead - go figure) and I generally leave the pedal on all night - it's dynamic response is such that I can fake Knopfler to Holdsworth - minus the musicianship.

Personally i think this is a good pedal. Its like a triamp in a pedal. If you need more gain on ch3, just add overdrive like the BB preamp or something.

Satchurator

I have the Satchurator. It's an excellent distortion box. The taper is smooth and allows for various amounts of gain, tone, and volume. The distortion is similar to the JSX tone with a little more attack/edge. I can execute the famous Satriani harmonic screams a bit easier with the pedal than with amp distortion. The Satchurator is quite, and works great in conjunction with a wah pedal. The battery lasts a long time and the pedal has an easy access battery door for fast changes on the bottom. I am extremely happy with this pedal. It's the best distortion box that I've ever demoed or owned.

I think I'm going for an Xotic BB or a Keeley TS-9. The Keeley stuff is amazing, but the BB seems to be just what I want.

Scored myself a Satchurator last weekend and a new EBMM WAH !! :D Only messed around at home but sounds great so far. Found it best with the tone control dialled in between 10 and 12 o'clock. I reckon it could get a bit fierce over that. Love the simplicity of the 'more' button. Will be putting them both to the test next Sunday..can't wait
