i'm not sure if this was the EVH EBMM, but quite possible based on the date of the video. I seem to remember reading in guitar magazine years ago an interview with Jerry Cantrell and he spoke about touring with Van Halen. Eddie apparently gave him a guitar..as was his custom at times, with certain acts they toured with. call him a nice guy or a smart business promoter;), but either way I think that's what may have happened.

IIRC, Cantrell said in an interview that EVH gave him two of the EVH guitars and a couple of 5150 stacks at the conclusion of their tour together.

I actually remember that broadcast.

I was really into Alice In Chains Dirt-era, and Stone Temple Pilots Core-era back then.

18 years on, in 2010, and we have two cracking albums from both bands once again (RIP Layne).

Jools used to have really interesting bands.

I'm off to dig out and scan an EVH Guitar mag review from back then, that I know I have stored somewhere. BRB.......

EVH gave him two guitars, one was gold and the other was trans blue. He said in an interview not too long ago that the gold one was stolen but he still has the blue one.

I saw Alice in Chains back in March, they were amazing!

RIP Layne...

For the record if EVH gave me a guitar... I would play it on TV as well.

Saw them in February at the Hollywood Palladium... AMAZING show. Gonna see 'em again with the Deftones and Mastodon in October. Can't wait!

From 1991 Guitarist magazine I believe!

Man, the folder that i have those pages stored in bring back old memories.

Thankfully I dodged the acne.

Very cool Sticky as I love to do the same thing, as I have a big table in the basement with hundreds of old issues of guitar mags that I love going through to see what was going on back in the day. If it was up to the wife though they would be set on fire.lol
