Veeery interesting! :)

I wonder how did they fit 5 stringer neck to "stock" 6 stringer pickups and bridge?

Very cool blank tone knobs :D ...he said all tone controls are centered, ...so why bother with preamp anyway than?
Make it passive, right?
OK, ...there must be a pickup balancer somewhere hidden too, right?
I'm sure there's tweakin' pickup balance hidden knob under the hood, ...and I'm 100% sure it ain't centered! ;)

Anyway, ...impressive rig too, ...I'm especially pleased that John uses EB strings! :)

I imagine that the Bongo's Enormo-Sound Preamp™ set flat is still a very big difference from running passively. Who knows... with the Bongo's pickups using Neodymium magnets, you might very well *need* a preamp in-line to act as a buffer as the pure signal from the pups might be too hot to go straight to the Output Jack.

Pretty cool setup. I'm not a big fan of their music, but he's clearly an incredible player.
