Hello_ New to the Forum, I was wondering if anyone knows where I can obtain a wiring schematic or diagram for the Ernie Ball John Petrucci BFR F-1 guitars. Maybe someone out there has information on this, as I cant seem to find it on the internet as of yet.
....I am thinking of re-wiring my signature JP model instead of buying another Ball. Thanks ....

Hey,

welcome. I think the wiring on the BFR F-1 is the same as on other JPs with piezo. Pickups/piezo/controls are the same, so you can use this scheme:
JP with Piezo wiring

I think the wiring might be a bit different due to the push/pull pot that lets both humbuckers be used in full. If you email customer service I'm sure they could hook ya up.

FWIW, I don't think the 12 pole switch on Allparts is the same as the 12 pole DiMarzio switch for doing the JP wiring. I'm running into that on a guitar I'm trying to mod. Gotta get a VU meter to see where things are going.

Hey Thanks pjc !!! ...That 12 pole push/pull switch is important as I also have to locate the exact switch as I want it to be professional, I assume it is a diMarzio switch.
I will try to do what Phil suggested and contact customer service and see if I can get any information there, although sometimes they are a little reluctant to give a complete wiring diagram as they want you to buy the guitar !!!! .....in the meantime if anyone has knows where to find a wire diagram for the BFR F-1, let me know !!!! Thanks

If you've ever taken the plates off of the JP, you'll find something quite amazing...

The switches are mounted to PC boards. They can design the board to do whatever they want.

I haven't taken apart a BFR but I assume they are made the same way. If you are going to use a contact switch I imagine it would be pretty complicated.
