John Petrucci's signature disappears on back side of the Majesty 6

hi, I have a beautiful Majesty 6 blue ink with John's signature on the back plate.
Now a few months later I notice that the signature is fading.
I assume this is because the guitar rubs against your belly.
At the moment I have a copy of the plate, cut from transparent rubber 1.5 mm thick and placed over it so that the signature is still visible.
luckily I got there in time, and the signature does not fade any further.
If anyone has a better idea, that is always welcome.

I’ve heard that spraying the signature with some type of clear coat can help. Never done it myself.

What I did when I had my old Luke signed was get another new plate, and take the signature one off.

I'd say reach out to an EBMM dealer near you and see if they have any or can get you one.

I'm a firm believer in protecting signatures if you have them. This is why I try to include a spare backplate with every guitar that comes from the factory with a signature. It gives the buyer the option to either keep the autographed plate on the guitar, or set to the side.

well Davis, i was thinking the same and to buy another backplate and let the signature one in the guitar case. that's the easy way.

Yep use a clear coat spray, works like a champ and what Pete said have a backup plate
