A friend of mine has a Graperay. It is Purple with a Rosewood fretboard and pearloid pickguard. He's a pretty rough player, and there is a spot or two where the finish is either fell off or bubbled up. I remember reading that EBMM will repair finishes if something like this occurs. Would this be a possibility for him?

its almost like the wood shrank and the paint tried to but couldn't. they look like cracks. My guitar has two of them. Both on the back side of the guitar. They run parrellel to each other and are about 6" long. There is about 2 1/2" between them and they point
toward 10 o'clock right where the contour of the body begins on the top of the back side of the guitar.

You say he is a rough player, so I don't know if we would fix it under warranty(which is 1 year from the date of purchase). I mean if he is beating the crap out of his bass, no . The warranty doesn't cover abuse. If it is a defect in the finish, we would like to see it and evaluate the situation, and yes, we can re shoot discontinued colors. If he wants us to look at it, call 1 866 823-2255 and get a return authorization number.

OK. He's had it alot longer than a year. I'll let him know. If its not covered under warranty, can he still pay for it?

I would still want to see it. If we can determine it was not due to his rough playing style, we would consider fixing it under warranty, but we would need to see it. I am not promising anything here, but if he wants to send it in, call 1 866 823-2255 for a return authorization number.
