Hi folks!

I have a jp-6 and only "problem" I've had with it is the tremolo arm. I'd like to tighten it so that it wouldn't swing down when I don't use it. I tried adjusting the hex screw in the tallpiece but I didn't help. The hex screw is now as tight as it goes but the arm is still loose!

Any ideas? I've heard about rolling some tape around the arm but it doesn't sound too good to me

The correct screw you want to tighten is on the trem block. Divebomb the trem and look at the exposed block. Tighten the screw, Bob's your uncle.

If I remember correctly, the other thing you might want to check is if the trem arm is actually all the way in. There is a ball at the end that snaps in place when you push it in far enough, then the screw that Lou mentioned will adjust the 'swing' tension. If it's not even in all the way, that might be your problem. I suppose it's even possible that you tightened the screw to the point where you can't get it in all the away...

I'll stop there...the potential inuendos are getting annoying...

Welcome by the way...
Mike
