My intention is using A tuning ...

So, the question is which one do you think the most suitable for it ?
what i was told about JP Baritone was, 27.5 scale doesn't make a big change I probably need 70 gauge for low A (Silhouette Bass Guitar is 29.6 and It could be smaller string for low A)

Does anyone here experienced both guitars ?
Thanks !

I do not have any experience with the JP, but have had a couple Silo basses and currently own one thats tuned A to a.

I would think you would like a silo bass , loads of fun to play sound awesome and you can buy exact sets to either go A toa or E to e, plus the Silo bass will save a few bucks.

Good luck in your quest

I know JP himself has used the JP baritone in Bb tuning, but I'm not sure about A. I'm sure either would work. To me, it'd be more about the comfort of playing the different scale lengths -- I'd probably go with the JP.

I am fairly certain JP used a Silhouette Bass for a while before the signature Baritone was released. When I saw Dream Theater in '05, I had pit tickets and I could tell that he played one for a couple of songs. I am pretty sure Panic Attack was one of them.

"These Walls" was recorded in 'A', and yes I do agree and believe that it was done on the Silo bass at the time. It's apparent that he is using his signature, now that it's available. So either or would be perfect for 'A'. The deciding factor lies in which guitar feels more like home in your hands. Maybe which one would be more visually appealing for you to? :p
Being a JP fan, "If it's good enough for JP, it's probably good enough for the vast majority."

never played a JP baritone, but i own a OLP silo bassguitar (30" scale i think) changed the PUPs to the OEM JP neck an the D-Sonic. now this thing kicks a$$!
i have tuned it from B to b - also tried A to a which worked very well.
i prefer to play the baritone 6 string over a 7 stringer, this is why i tuned it from B to b.
