what is this model ?

For all i know it should be rosewood
Can anyone explain please

That's definitely got a rosewood board. Just checked the serial number. Also, the color is Island Burst. It was something special we did for Musicians Friend.

Hmmm. This is one of the least rosewood-y lookin' rosewood boards I've ever seen! If we look at the shots at the first few frets, it does look a little like rosewood (if I squint and turn my head) but from the photos of the higher registers, I'd swear it was ebony.

As A.J. said, the GC series maple top Island Bursts BFRs did indeed have mahogany necks with RW board. The Koa top Island Burst BFRs had mahogany/ebony boards. I can't help wondering if somebody switched necks at some point?

I think the bahama blue limited BFR came with an Ebony fretboard

If A.J did not reply I would definitely say that was Ebony.The board is as dark as the pups. Kevin may be correct that someone swapped necks on that. I have seen some dark RW boards but none more black as that. I would definetly check the serial number before buying to make sure everything adds up.

Whatever about the colour of the board, the texture looks wrong to me. That the body and serial are the GC specials and the neck came from a Koa top seems like the best explanation.

Of course, when digital cameras expose pictures, sometimes darks come out darker and we lose a lot of detail. Maybe in daylight, it's obviously rosewood? Let's not ignore the possibility.

its a darker fretboard than my GC bfr baham blue, and its ebony...

that certainly is a pretty guitar

Maybe the neck swap isn't so farfetched considering how wacked out that bridge setup is. Not only do the strings look way too high but the bridge seems to have been raised too. Maybe in an effort to accommodate the neck sitting a little higher in the neck slot than the original? Seems like a long shot but I would personally veer away from this one. Seems fishy to me.
