Help! JP bridge with scratches

Hello guys, I've got an opportunity to get a used JP6, it's in good conditions, no dents or scratches in the body, frets are ok, just the bridge, it has some scratches and a couple rusty spots, the pickup screws as well, the owner told me it was due to normal use and sweat.

It just looks a little weird, I never seen normal use cause that, it looks more like he was palm muting with his wrist watch, no big deal really, I'm ok with a used guitar having a thing or two.

I'll post pictures of the bridge, does anyone also have gotten their bridges to this state? Is there a product to polish and maybe fix this?

Well it could be re-plated by a specialist but it would cost a bit as the existing chrome would need to be chemically removed then the underlying metal polished and finally re-chromed. It wouldn't put me off tbh.

That is some strange wear. You may be able to polish the scratches with a product like "Simichrome". I've used that on auto trim and related stuff.

Thanks, this simichrome looks nice, it should at least reduce some of this wear.

I wouldn't mind about the scratches... there's another thing, much more serious, that caught my eye: your high E string is too close to the edge of the fretboard. DrKev recorded this video a while ago, and it may help you:

I'm sure you could get a replacement from customer service. Hard to tell from the angle about the high e but that issue could be fixed as well.

Thanks for the input, it really looks like it needs a little neck allignment, I didn't pull the trigger on this guitar yet, still deciding. I read the neck pocket on JP's is really tight, but I assume it's just a basic procedure just like in the video posted above right?

You would have to get a whole another bridge to get rid of those scrates. Also this is an older JP so it wont have stainless frets. Just keep that in mind. If the price is right then it will be hard to say no.

I have no idea how it would work in this situation but I will back simchrome as an amazing product that I use frequently.
