I want a JP but am unsure as of what model to get. I'm between the JPX and JPXI. Supposedly from what I've read/heard the jpxi is better for the med jumbo frets over the jumbo but the neck radius changed from 15'' to 20''. I've yet to play and try either as there is no where I know that has these in stock unfortunately. I also haven't played anything with a neck radius that large before, so I was curious if there was something that would be commonly found at a GC to try so I could a feel for both the 15'' and 20''. Personally I like the baralo finish over the onyx, especially how the tremolo wasn't chrome and matched the rest of the pickups.

I also need verification as to I can't seem to remember or find any info on which model did the split coil with the push/pull knob. If anyone has any suggestions or info too that would help, I would appreciate it.

Someone mentioned I should get the BFR, isn't the BFR the highest costing JP model? Also is the BFR the same as the XI besides the transparent finish?

Also to keep in mind is that the JPX has a 5-way switch so it might be more difficult/easier depending on what you're used to. The JPX is also chambered which has a special sound to it, so it's not just the finish that is different.

The push-pull I'm unsure of, I think it's available on both JPX and JPXI but as I said, not sure.

The BFR is indeed the highest costing JP model, more specifically the Koa version. The regular BFR-series is the same as except the JPXI has:
- Medium Jumbo profile frets instead of BFR's High profile wide frets
- Ebony fretboard instead of BFR's rosewood fretboard
- and as you said, no figured maple top with transparent finish to show it like the BFR has

I prefer the looks of the JPX, but the specs of the JPXI/XII- so obviously I opted for the XII. You can't go wrong with either. Most people I've seen prefer the 20" radius to the 15", so ultimately it depends on which is more important to you: looks or specs.

JP XII FTW. I like the tones of the XII better than the XI. And the 3 way works better for me over the 5-way. YMMV

At the risk of sounding childish, do we have to call this thread JP Gas? and on top of that "want to buy info"

No harm done in asking but does it really matter what the thread is called? It's just a thread title. What's important is the content inside the thread. The title could've been named fuzzy purple nipple hair for all it mattered. I have EBMM JP GAS and want to buy one therefor I need more info on them to help me decide which one to choose to purchase.

Lol, I think what jvh meant was that there's a difference between GAS and Gas, the first one being a short-word for Gear Aquisition Syndrome, the latter being stomache gas. Or maybe I misunderstood him ^^
