If I even LOOK at this thing it goes out of tune. 4k for an unplayable sack of suck. Anyone else have this issue? I have graphited the nut to no avail...I don't remember EVER regretting a purchase as much as this, but hold out hope that it can be resolved.

My Majesty (and other floating trems) are all stable. The exception is if I try to abuse them with dive bombs, but even then the tuning is still stays pretty close. If you need absolute rock stability with heavy trem use, then you might want to look into a Floyd.

If you purchased the guitar new from an authorized dealer it should still be covered under warranty (assuming the period hasn’t lapsed).

Have you taken it back to them or as Beej suggested contact Music Man customer service? If not start there.

It goes wildly out of tune not using the trem at all.

I picked it up from Musicians Friend, so I'm not sure

How long have you had it, and have you changed the gauge of strings installed on the guitar?
Hey tbone, I think 6 months now. I was going to send it back immediately, but thought for the price that it MUST be a fault of mine and maybe I just needed to get used to it. I play it so seldomly because of the issues that I haven't even changed the strings yet

I would certainly start with changing the strings. Old sets of strings can give you all sorts of tuning/intonation issues.

Bring it for a full setup and as several people your issue may just be nut groves too small
Yeah, right you are I suppose, no amount of talking is going to make this unfortunate instrument right. Blows my mind tbh, for this kind of money I really expected something playable right out of the case. Go figure

Setting up guitars isn't rocket science, but there could be a bunch of things off- angle of the trem, sticking trem posts, a nut issue, bad string, etc. Who knows who touched the guitar before you got it. If it's not something you can easily diagnose then it's time to escalate the issue.

This is somewhat unusual, so I would definitely have it checked out. MM has an amazing support team- drop them a line and ask for help.
