Hi all!

It has been a long long time since I last logged on!
Truth being told, I couldn't handle the GAS this forum induces on me :(
EBMM has come up with pretty awesome stuff recently, with me starting a new job soon, funding for a new axe is on the way!

Now, back to my question...
I recently had my JP setup, and specifically told the tech that I wanted to keep the factory settings, just lower the actions to its lowest and clean the guitar up... Heard great things about this tech, drove 200 miles to his workshop and have my JP setup...
When I got back the guitar, he actually raised the pickup pole pieces ala $rat styled...
He convinced me that it is a "better" setup, so I agreed to it I drove back 200 miles...

To my horror, my JP now sounds significantly harsher...
So my end question is, can I just adjust the pole pieces back to its flat position, or there's a height that EBMM specifies?

You can adjust them as you wish. As DiMarzio makes 'em, the bridge pickup polepieces are flush with the top of the bobbin, the neck pickup polepieces are slightly higher. Look at the photos of the various models on the Music man website and you'll see what I mean...
