I am just curious how good the piezo and clean tones are on the JP. I have watched several videos but the clean tones are just usually pushed aside...

Thanks

I gig with my JP's in an acoustic band. It sounds great and I get compliments and strange looks on where the sound is coming from.

The clean tone on my Majesty is great. I've played lots of JP's and the clean sound has always been good. It is definitely overlooked when people review/demo the guitar though. I used the Majesty exclusively when I played West Side Story this past summer. The guitar part is just "clean guitar" -- probably a jazz box or semi-hollow as most of the single note lines are Jazzy-bop style. I just rolled back the tone a bit, and lived on the neck pickup. I can't decide if I like the JP split sound or the middle position without the split better. Good thing I can get both!

The piezo is great, but it's even better with my Helix and IRs. JP uses a Fishman Aura pedal to refine his clean sounds, and that's pretty much what I do using Helix.

The piezo is fantastic, both powerful and clear, but my biggest gripe is that the volume is too high compared to my other piezo guitars and I always have to roll it back on the guitar otherwise it totally dominates. Even reducing the mag/piezo mix trim pot and increasing it on the other guitars, there is a large volume difference when I switch guitars.

Well In won't have any other piezo to switch to so..lol. Thanks. I am just wondering if I can use the piezo in lieu of an acoustic as I can no longer play one due to my shoulder being replaced and the angle is just too uncomfortable.

Thanks.

You can definitely use the majesty piezo in place of an acoustic. Run it straight into the PA (not through the amp) for best quality sound.

This is important -- if you run the Piezo through a clean channel, it'll sound like an electric guitar.
