All,

I've been around here long enough to know that the Luke's trem is set up so that it does not float when combined with a piezo.

What about the JP? I know the non-piezo floats but what about the piezo version?

If a JP piezo floats, why not a Luke Piezo??

The JP floats. As far as why the others (Silo, Luke, Axis SS, Albert Lee) don't, I think is really a question for the man. I think it's cause all the others have a MM vintage style trem. It just works better as a lowers pitch only unit.

The JP's body is routed so the trem floats. The Luke is set up so it floats off the body creating an angle that won't produce enough pressure on the saddle for the piezo to work.

Cool, thanks for the replies. Good to know!

I sometimes wish I could get a Axis SS piezo with a JP floating trem...

...or a JP with an Axis neck and figured maple top... :D

Does this mean you can't use the trem when using the piezo...?

(imaging a garth brooks meets steve vai acoustic dive bomb!)

I set up my Luke piezo to float, cuz I don't really need to divebomb acoustic parts.

I havn't found it to be weird at all, but some people might.
