Quick question for you EBMM JP owners:

I do a lot of heavy trem work, EVH style. I'm concerned about the tuning stability of a non-floyd guitar when it comes to heavy trem work like that. How does the Petrucci model hold up in that department? The only ones I've played have not had their trem bars in at the time, so I couldn't test them out myself.

Thanks.

my favorite bridge. very sensitive to vibrato. nice feel. NEVER goes out of tune.
I don't know if a floyd would've been invented had these come out first.

I have to re-tune my Floyd-equipped guitars more often than my JP6.

I owned guitars with FLoyd's exslusively from the 1980's until I got my JP6 in 2004, so I was a huge Floyd fan (I still like them), but the JP trem is just better.
I wish every EBMM model had the JP trem as an option.

On top of the stable tuning, what other full floating trem can you intonate in minutes...non other than the JP!

My JP7's stay in tune pretty well. I knock them out pretty often though, but it's more a function of my really aggressive attack than it is a fault of the hardware.

I don't do any really heavy trem sillyness or anything, but for the most part it works pretty well.

As a whole as just a comfortable good-sounding bridge, it's my favorite by a mile. ;)

My JP trem has worked flawlessly since day one. No problems at all.

Just remember to keep your trem posts and knife edges lubricated.
That's the difference between "My trem is OK" and "Would my g/f be pissed if I slept with my trem?"

Again, make sure your trem posts and knife edges are lubricated. Use a light grease, preferably something with PTFE.

Clean and lube your trem everytime you setup the guitar (or every 10,000 notes. :) )

The Petrucci trem its rock solid, i used to have a floyd rose equiped jackson and believe me I don't miss it at all, its so sweet to change the strings cuz u dont have to deal with the freaking alen keys and loosening and tightening the screws, I one tune it when i start playing and thats it, and of course if u have old strings on, i thing that will affect the overall performance of the whole system
