The only JP model I have owned was a 2005 JP6 in lava pearl, and had to sell it for unfortunate circumstances. So I am looking to buy again, and the JP15 Has my interest. I have alays loved how the neck feels and how stable the tremelo is as well. I don't have any experience with the Akoume tone wood or any roasted necks before.

Is the 2026 JP15 significantly a brighter sounding guitar than the older JP's made from basswood, rosewood fretboards?
How would you describe the tones you are getting from your current JP15?

Thanks.

My JP15 wasn't brighter than my regular JP6. If anything I found the sound a little thicker, with more sustain overall and warmer overtones. It's still bright enough to be clear and the pickups are also not what I'd call dark, but it's overall a balanced instrument.

Honestly the best word I could use to describe how my JP15 sounded was 'great'. There wasn't ever anything I couldn't change by tweaking EQ knobs.

The trem is like any other competent 2-point floating trems. Stable until you abuse it. It's not a double-locker.
