Hey guys, long time? I might be getting another JP in a trade (my wolfie special deluxe flame + 3 1/2) . It's a 2008 with Piezo.
I have never owned a guitar with a piezo, so I guess my questions are, how to hook it up. (1 cable, 2 cable, mono, stereo, switch box, etc.)
I guess for starters, I can use my back up tube amp, not sure if I can afford another amp. also, anyone know what type of pups went in that year, I know it's post the custom wound era! Thanks!

Hi Raz - good to see you back.

I run a stereo lead.

My set up 1.
Stereo out into an Ernie Ball splitter then the mags go to a tube amp and the piezo to my AER acoustic amp.
Some knuckleheads take the piezo into the PA.

My Set up 2
Stereo out into a eb 6165 pedal - splitting the signal as above into two separate amps.

FWIW here's some earlier threads on the subject

Thanks Spud! Can I run two mono cables, one (mag) to amp and the piezo directly into my Zoom R16? When we jam, I normally mic everything, mix and record with the R16. This way I wouldn't need another amp (till we gig???) and I can probably get a reasonable setting to amplify the piezo...
