JP6 BFR Question

Hey Guys!

I came across this post on CL:

Ernie Ball Family Reserve Music Man Petrucci JP6 BFR

I am very curious about it because this seems like a regular JP6, but has the BFR logo, "Custom Made" on the neck plate and sports a painted neck. I was wondering if anyone is familiar with that particular mode and can tell me more about it.

That's definitely bizarre. It's a basswood PRB JP6 for sure but the finished neck is throwing me off. Maybe it was a bFR RW neck jp6 where someone had an aftermarket neck finish.

Only way to be sure is to get a serial number and sort it out. I don't think standard and BFR necks can be swamped given the change in horns the pocket might be different but I'm not 100% sure. I could be totally wrong.
