This is a special project I'm doing with my jazz band. JP6 has been my main axe lately, but I was skeptical if it really cut it on a jazz gig. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised with the result. hope you guys enjoy, full live band performance:

Cool stuff man! That's a beautiful axe and it does jazz nicely! I own an Axis Super Sport and the reason I bought it was purely due to its versatility; whether your going for thick, smooth jazz tones or ridiculous rock and metal riffery, it does it all! I'm currently selling all of my other guitars to fund another EBMM, I'm that impressed!

Anyway man, great video! Love to hear more sometime!

Thanks for checking out the vid. I've done a few jazz gigs with my JP6. It's really great to be able to kick in great rock tones for the fusion/funky stuff and go for a more clean jazz tone as well. It used to be my Les Paul, but the JP6 blows away the LP for playability.
I'm still not completely happy with those pickups, still looking for something better.

I really thought they sounded killer, but of course it's always a matter of personal preference. One of the main reasons I bought an Axis Super Sport was to get my hands on those custom-wound DiMarzios; I've tried a number of different DiMarzios pickups in my other guitars and couldn't even come close to the clarity, smoothness and punch of these pickups. What is it exactly that your looking for in a replacement pickup?

You're right about one thing for sure -- I haven't found a guitar yet that comes close to EBMM in terms of sheer playability.

The D-sonic/Custom I have on the JP6 can sound a liitle too compressed at times. I love a more open sound like Lukather and old Roth-era Van Halen, where you hear the amp breathe through the pickups. Those custom-wound DiMarzios on your ASS do just that, it has a lot of depth. I have the Liquid Fire/Crunch Lab set as well, they are better and more dimesional, but the difference is not that much for me to switch them out on my main JP6.
I actually been doing some more playing on my Les Paul, but as far as the main axe goes, it's the JP6 all the way. I did a long 90 min set of straight playing with a JP6, no problem.
