Hey there guys.

Today I was playing with my JP6 (first music man I own) and I found out that when I pull the neck away from me and pull the body toward me, the strings can almost touch the frets and it bends the note. I don’t know if this guitar has something wrong (I bought it used) but my Ibanez guitar does not do that even if I push very hard the neck. Here’s a video to make it clearer:

Hello Vijfziel and welcome to the forum family!

Every guitar I have ever owned will do that. Totally normal, nothing worry about at all, at all, at all. In fact, quite honestly, I'm intriqued that you own a guitar that won't do that! :D

Looks a fabulous guitar! Any photos?

DrKev. Thanks for the response!

I can relax now! Hahahaha. My Ibanez does that, but when I apply a lot of pressure, and the bend it’s less than 1/4th note. My JP6 does it even when I’m standing and pull the neck toward me. That was the thing scaring me!

If you ever listen to Ozzy Osbourne's first album, Blizzard of Oz, Randy Rhoads used "neck bends" quite a bit. He was playing a non-vibrato Les Paul custom at the time, so there really wasn't much choice.

Still, in the long term, it's not really a good thing for the neck or neck joint.
