Ahhhh.....I bought my first JP in pearl red-burst some 8 years ago.
After some hundred shows and 3 records it still remains my workhorse and main live guitar.
I have maintained it as well as any other guitar I have owned (oiling fretboard and constantly polishing) but unlike many of my other instruments...this thing still plays like new despite the years of abuse!
Congrats...you now have an instrument from (in my estimation) the best and most sincere guitar manufacturer out there!!!!
