After reading this forum for a while and strongly considering a JP6 I finally went to our local guitar shop and played one. I can't believe how easy it plays, how good the fit and finish are and how nice it is to play the low, smooth action. Oh my, fine guitar (i.e. OMFG :). Now I have no choice, I have to order one, I've been hooked.

Nice. JP6's are great. I love mine, but its being sold to fund something even more magical. Welcome to the forum!

Haha, pretty soon he'll be Gibsonguywhoreallyreallylovesernieballandreallyisn'tagibsonguyanymoresojustcallmeernieballguyplease. ;)

Very nice. I may change it to EBMMconvertguy or something similar. :) Seriously, I have had a Gibson 355 (1961) since 1972 and I love that guitar. I enjoy every time I play it. I also have a Les Paul and a Carvin Bolt that I built. I like them all but the JP6 was unbelievable.

You sound like me a year and a half ago!! I always knew that EBMM manufactured well built, great feeling tone machines. I bought an Axis at GC back in '99 and it ultimately pushed my '88 PRS Custom 24 out of my hands. Of course, the Floyd Rose wore thin on me after a few months and I ended up selling it. I was getting into my heavy TCM phase and the quest for "that" Les Paul so I hadn't tried anymore EBMM. Fast forward to last March '06. Went to a JP clinic. Always liked JP's playing and I was really fascinated by his guitar at the clinic, the thoughtfulness of the ergonomics, etc. I tried a JP6 after the clinic and was mesmerized, not only by the tone, but the feel, the neck, the knob and switch placement, the dive you could get out of the trem. A few weeks later, I bought one and haven't looked back. It was my number one player from that day on, until a couple of weeks ago when a sweet used JP7 ended up my hands!!! They split duty as my number one!!!!!!!

Oh you'll see come next Monday (well should be here by next Monday, lets hope so), I'll be sure to post pics. I can't afford to keep the JP6 and the new Ball I'm getting, so the JP6 will have to go. I wish I could keep them both, but I don't have that kinda cash flow.

I've been playing alot of years. I've played them all. In a nutshell, I'll never be without AT LEAST one JP6 in the stable.

The guitar chooses you...
